Our Service Department is always clean and our staff is always ready to help. Our Service Department will maintain all of your maintenance records and ensure that your warranty is always intact. Routine and regular service is the most important service for your vehicle's reliability and longevity. Our Oil & Filter Service should be performed in accordance with your vehicle guidelines as those guidelines are designed to meet the vehicle's requirements for our climate. This Service is critically important.
Minor Service is typically performed between the more major services. The Minor Service is performed on 15,000 mile intervals that start at 7,500 miles and reoccur at 22,500, 37,500... The purpose of this service is to provide the technician the opportunity see the car between major service intervals. During this service we will be changing the oil and filter, inspecting the brakes, belts, hoses, tires, and A/C. This is a very inexpensive service that also works very well as a Pre-Trip inspection.
*Estimated time of service = 1 hour.
Intermediate Service is performed at 15,000 miles and then again on 30,000 mile intervals thereafter. Typical mileage for this service is 15,000, 45,000, 75,000… This service includes all of the items performed within the Minor Service. While it is more extensive than a Minor Service it is not nearly as extensive as the Major Service. The Intermediate Service is the minimum requirement to maintain your new car warranty, but to ensure long term vehicle reliability for all the years to follow, we recommend performing the Major Service in lieu of this service. As previously mentioned this service includes everything found within the Minor Service and adds transmission service, alignment check, lubrication and minor engine tuning adjustments.
*Estimated time of service = 3 hours.
Major Service is performed at 30,000 miles and then again every 30,000 miles throughout the vehicle's life. This is the most extensive service performed. The Major Service includes all the items listed in the Minor and Intermediate Services and adds a great deal more. The Major Service replaces every oil in the car including the Engine, Transmission, Front Differential, Rear Differential and Active Torque Transfer Systems (note: your particular vehicle may not have all the oil’s listed). The Major Service also includes a comprehensive engine tuning with all parts included, a complete brake inspection, cleaning and parking brake adjustment. Each service is quality control inspected and the engine and windshield are always clean when your car leaves our shop.
*Estimated time of service = 5 hours.

At Expert Automotive we have a tremendous level of experience with both 5-speed and automatic transmissions. We are "Experts" at automatic transmission repair and replacement and we have a warranty to match that status. Whenever we replace a Honda or Acura transmission we offer you a "3 year or 100,000 miles whichever comes first" guarantee on both the transmission and the labor. We can offer this because we install and well built transmission and we have the staff training to ensure that the reassembly goes exactly as planned. When you are using great parts along with great technicians great results can be expected.
The vast majority of issues with manual transmissions comes down to worn clutch parts. When it this is an issue we work with a local machine shop and in most cases where a clutch needs to be replaced we can remove your transmission and flywheel, have the flywheel resurfaced and replace the clutch with original equipment parts and have you up and running the same day..
At Expert Automotive we don’t try to be all things to all people. This is a recipe for failure. We work on your Honda, Acura, Toyota and Lexus cars and this includes hybrids. Even in 2014 myths still surround hybrids so it is imperative to separate fact from fiction.
All the way from the need for wall sockets, the untrue requirement that only the dealer can service and repair them to the inconvenience of fuel cells, the fact that there is so much negative gossip about hybrids is proof they are doing something right. People often have a hard time accepting change, especially when it involves something as sacred as what we drive. America has evolved around the car through the entirety of the last century, so it is understandable that many misconceptions about hybrids still exist.
5 Hybrid myths
Myth One: Hybrids require expensive battery packs.
Fact: Modern hybrids use a system known as regenerative charging. Every time brake on your hybrid, the gas engine transfers a portion of electrical power back into the battery and this automatically recharges the battery. By keeping it charged between 40 and 60 percent of its maximum capability, hybrid batteries enjoy a long life, one that is guaranteed by some manufacturers up to 100,000 miles. Yes they will someday need servicing but they are not failing at the rate the naysayers predicted.
Myth Two: Hybrids Have No Power.
Fact: Performance levels in hybrids is impressive. New technology allows many of the same attributes of high-powered vehicles to be applied in hybrids. The Lexus GS 450h has more than 300 horsepower and can beat many gas powered vehicles 0 to 60. Because hybrids are known for their fuel efficiency does not mean they are underpowered. The Prius has even been known to chirp the tires.
Myth Three: Hybrids are Cost Prohibitive
Fact: The Toyota Prius starts at about $22,000 as does the Honda Civic hybrid. While it’s true that hybrids can cost as much as $100,000 or more nobody makes the same complaint against gas powered cars. A Ferrari could set you back $500,000. Like many of the myths surrounding hybrids, this is one that is completely unfounded and based more on fear of change than fact.
Fact: Although these vehicles are different they are not unreasonably so. Classes are held across America and the tools and equipment required to work on these cars is readily available. The majority of hybrids still have an internal combustion component along with brakes, transmissions and items that will eventually reuire service or maintenance. We have a technician on staff that is certified in the repair and maintenance of AFVsbattery and this automatically recharges the battery. By keeping it charged between 40 and 60 percent of its maximum capability, hybrid batteries enjoy a long life, one that is guaranteed by some manufacturers up to 100,000 miles. Yes they will someday need servicing but they are not failing at the rate the naysayers predicted.
Myth Five: Hybrids are the Cure-all for Foreign Oil Dependency
Fact: Hybrids, although they present a clear alternative to over-consumption of fossil fuels, do not solve all of America's problems when it comes to foreign oil however it is a great start!
The myths surrounding hybrids are slowly being erased, but as with much misinformation, it has a tendency to spread faster than the truth. The good thing about the facts, though, is that they will come out no matter how long it takes. As more people learn the truths are about hybrids, it will catch on.
